A New Era Begins

From Joe:

As I hope you have heard by now, I will be letting go of Joe’s Yoga & Fitness and moving into (semi) retirement at the end of April. First and foremost, I want to thank you for all your support over the last 36 years! 


I’ve been so blessed to have had the opportunity to share what I love with you! From yoga, kettlebells, running coaching and personal training to chair yoga, chair massage, and peer listening groups—I CHERISH all those great memories over the decades. With you, it has been as rewarding as well as fun! 


I am so happy the studio will continue on with a group of committed students led by Diane & Gregg Hipp (see below). With them at the helm, I will continue to teach Monday and Wednesday 7pm Yoga classes as well as continue offering private personal training and my senior chair yoga class (which will now be on a drop-in cash basis). 


I encourage you to come and support the next endeavor—and continue to make your health and connection with each other an important part of your life. 


Time flies when you are having fun—It’s been great wellness journey together!

As Joe's students for over 13 years, we have benefited greatly from Joe's kettlebell and yoga classes. When Joe announced his retirement and the closing of his studio, we immediately began thinking about continuing Joe's mission by taking over the studio.


We are excited to announce the opening of Spark Workout Studio on May 1 at the same location on Hufford Road. We are dedicated to carrying on Joe's mission, so much that we are adopting his mission for Spark Workout Studio, which is "To provide a non-competitive, self-healing, mindful environment for individuals to take charge of their own health and wellbeing".


We are building pricing models similar to what Joe has been utilizing. (Per-class passes and monthly unlimited passes, etc.) One of the advantages of the studio is its affordability, and we are committed to moderate fees.


Maintaining the current class schedule is our immediate goal. At the same time, we are talking with other instructors to expand the offerings, which is exciting. We are happy Joe has agreed to continue to teach the Monday & Wednesday evening yoga classes, which we greatly appreciate to provide continuity. He will also continue to utilize the studio for Private Personal Training and his Senior Chair Yoga Class (which will be on a drop-in cash basis.)


We hope to have the new sign-up app and website ready very soon to provide ample time for everyone to become familiar with it by the changeover date of May 1. We will keep you posted on when the Spark Workout Studio website, app, and email address are launched.


To the "regulars" who come often, we value the commitment of each of you and realize that this endeavor will not be successful without your support. We further believe that the community feel is what sets us apart from other yoga and fitness studios. This will remain our focus! If it's been a while since you've worked out at the studio, we invite you to check us out. We look forward to continuing the fun and tradition of Hot Yoga with Joe by focusing on functional strength and flexibility for a healthy lifestyle.

Senior Chair Yoga

Wednesdays 11am-Noon

Chair-based yoga, a gentle form of yoga done while sitting, offers the same benefits as traditional yoga. Some poses may also be done standing using the chair for support to increase balance.
